Patriots transactions: 🏈Claimed/awarded on waivers: WR/returner Kobe Prentice (Baylor) 🏈 Waived: OL Sebastian Gutierre Via @MikeReiss on X

What happened: Prentice joins New England after finishing his college career at Baylor in 2025. Gutierrez's release ends his latest stint with the organization after practice-squad time in 2022 and 2025.

Why it matters: The move adds another receiver and return option for training camp ahead of the 2026 season. Releasing Gutierrez keeps the roster exchange even while reducing offensive-line depth.

By the numbers: Prentice recorded 86 catches for 1,160 yards and 11 touchdowns across 38 college games. Gutierrez has appeared in two NFL games.

What to watch: Prentice will compete for a roster spot as New England evaluates its receiving and return groups in camp.
