What happened: New England is prepared to bring the wide receiver off injured reserve barring a late setback after he logged a limited practice on Wednesday. Ian Rapoport likewise reported Saturday that the Patriots are likely to activate him for the Oct. 18 matchup.

Why it matters: Getting Brown back on the field Sunday provides game reps before a short-week turnaround against the Chicago Bears next Thursday. Palmer noted that Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is also trending toward playing this Sunday ahead of that Thursday night meeting.

What to watch: New England will finalize Brown's activation from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets before facing the Bears on Thursday night.
