What happened: The New England Patriots ruled out six active roster members, including starting cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis III, for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Fullback Reggie Gilliam, wide receiver Mack Hollins, and rookie cornerbacks Karon Prunty and Channing Canada will also miss the Week 5 contest.

Why it matters: The absences severely deplete the New England secondary, leaving the defense without its top two perimeter coverage options after Davis played all 59 snaps in last week's upset over the Buffalo Bills. The passing offense simultaneously loses Hollins, who leads the unit in targets, catches, and yards with A.J. Brown sidelined.

What to watch: Head coach Mike Vrabel noted the team will make roster moves to reach 48 active players, with safety Brenden Schooler expected to be activated from the non-football injury list. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson remains questionable after suffering a knee injury last Sunday.
