What happened: New Orleans added a fourth-year term on center Yves Missi and third-year terms on guard Jeremiah Fears and forward-center Derik Queen. The team announced the moves Tuesday ahead of the 2026-27 regular season.

Why it matters: The decisions keep three recent first-round picks under team control without a new negotiation. A preseason preview tabbed expanded roles for Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears this season.

What to watch: New Orleans now turns to its regular-season opener with its rookie-scale decisions settled.
