"Steph [Curry] needs to be planning his exit strategy from the Golden State Warriors." 😳 @KendrickPerkins does not beli Via @ESPNNBA on X

What happened: Kendrick Perkins said Golden State's current roster cannot contend for an NBA title. He argued Curry should prepare to leave after the upcoming season.

Why it matters: The warning follows a 37-45 finish that ended in the play-in, intensifying scrutiny of Golden State's direction. The 2026-27 campaign now carries added weight for a franchise trying to reopen its championship window.

By the numbers: Golden State finished 37-45 in 2025-26 and missed the playoffs after losing in the play-in.

What to watch: Golden State's remaining offseason moves will show whether it can materially strengthen the roster before 2026-27.
