What happened: Pro Football Focus proposed the New York Giants as a potential trade destination to address their running back need with Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor. Multiple NFL clubs would be open to acquiring the veteran back, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder, after Taylor surfaced as a trade candidate earlier this week.

Why it matters: New York has been floated by SB Nation among prospective buyers looking to upgrade its roster for a postseason push. Adding a proven workhorse who recorded 323 carries for 1,585 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns across 17 games in 2025, per ESPN, would immediately stabilize the Giants' ground game.

By the numbers: New York holds a 3-2-1 record and the No. 4 seed following a 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 18.

What to watch: Any deal hinges on whether Indianapolis decides to field formal offers ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
