What happened: Pro Football Focus highlighted Drew Lock's brief stretch as the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback during the 2026 regular season. Lock stepped in earlier this season after replacing an injured Sam Darnold in September.

Why it matters: Lock's relief appearances kept the quarterback discussion active in Seattle, though head coach Mike Macdonald has committed to keeping Darnold as the starter amid heavy offensive line pressure and a weak run game. Seattle originally acquired Lock from Denver in the Russell Wilson trade after the Broncos drafted him 42nd overall in 2019.

What to watch: Darnold remains atop the Seahawks' depth chart with Lock serving as the primary backup.
