The Phillies fire longtime hitting coach Kevin Long and veteran infield coach Bobby Dickerson as @JimSalisbury215 report Via @BNightengale on X

What happened: Both will not return for 2027 per Jim Salisbury. Philadelphia made the staff calls after its October exit.

Why it matters: Philadelphia went 79-55 under Don Mattingly after a 9-19 start before the October exit. Turnover hits as the club weighs moving a top starter for an impact bat.

What to watch: Philadelphia now opens searches for a hitting coach and an infield coach before spring.
