Prior to tonight’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals, the Phillies placed RHP Caleb Kilian on the 15-day injured list Via @Phillies on X

What happened: Shugart takes Kilian's spot on the 26-man roster after a recall from Lehigh Valley (AAA). The moves come before tonight's scheduled game against St. Louis.

Why it matters: Shugart gives Philadelphia another right-handed pitcher while Kilian is on the injured list. Philadelphia and St. Louis remain 0-0 before first pitch.

What to watch: Shugart's role on the pitching staff is the next roster question.
