What happened: Pitt Panthers senior cornerback Raion Strader expressed confidence in the secondary's game plan ahead of Saturday's scheduled matchup against Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Malachi Toney. Strader projects to line up across from the versatile playmaker in coverage. Clemson cornerback Ashton Hampton previously slowed Toney's production with tight man coverage earlier this regular season.

Why it matters: Slowing Toney is central to a Pitt squad navigating a demanding regular-season stretch, though Toney also contributes as a perimeter blocker when coverage rotates his way. Hurricanes offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson can counter bracket coverage by spreading targets through quarterback Darian Mensah to receivers Cooper Barkate and Daylyn Upshaw, as well as tight end Elija Lofton. Running backs Mark Fletcher Jr. and Javian Mallory also anchor the ground attack out of the backfield.

What to watch: Pitt and Miami meet Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, with network coverage scheduled on ESPN.
