What happened: Joey Porter Jr.'s move to Dallas means Pittsburgh's 2022 second-round pick George Pickens, 2023 first-round pick Broderick Jones and 2023 second-round pick Porter are all now with the Cowboys. The latest deal sent Porter to Dallas for a 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick.

Why it matters: The sequence strips Pittsburgh of three early draft bets from the 2022 and 2023 classes at wide receiver, left tackle and cornerback. It also extends George Pickens' Dallas run, with Porter joining a Cowboys group that already included Pickens and Jones.

By the numbers: Pickens was the No. 14 in 2023 and Porter went No. 32 in 2023. Pickens caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns in 17 games for Dallas in 2025, while Porter had 52 tackles, one sack and one interception in 14 games that season.

What to watch: The next question is how Pittsburgh uses the future picks tied to the Porter deal. Dallas can now turn from trade terms to fitting Porter alongside the other former Steelers picks already on its roster.
