“That is a night and day team when he is out on the football field” 👀 Jordan Poyer explains why the Falcons need Michae Via @NFLonCBS on X

What happened: Jordan Poyer said on Just Football that Atlanta is a night-and-day team with Michael Penix Jr. on the field. He framed Penix as the quarterback Atlanta needs under center. Penix previously rejoined the Falcons after an injury absence.

Why it matters: Atlanta opened with Cooper Rush starting while Penix was out. A full return would settle first-team reps around the former first-round pick.

By the numbers: Penix completed 166 of 276 passes for 1,982 yards with 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in 9 games in 2025. Atlanta drafted him 8th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Washington.

What to watch: The next step is whether Penix resumes full first-team reps and starts under center for Atlanta.
