What happened: San Francisco plays under the Monday night lights with its quarterback on the verge of a league milestone. Purdy needs five more passes to enter NFL history as his MVP case draws national attention.

Why it matters: The timing sharpens Purdy's standing among early MVP frontrunners during an unbeaten start. A record on a national stage would strengthen his case and San Francisco's hold atop the NFC race.

What to watch: Purdy's early efficiency and the final score shape the conference picture into Week 7.
