Why it matters: Downfield efficiency compresses drives into explosive plays during the 2026 regular season. The same Purdy who led second-half passer rating at 140.3 now grades first on deep throws.

By the numbers: 20-plus-yard passing grades: Purdy 98.3; Mahomes 96.2; Goff 94.9; Young 93.4; Stroud 93.3.

What to watch: Deep grades face Week 7 adjustments as coverages react to the top five.
