LA Rams Roster Moves: • Waived, No Recall WR Xavier Smith https://t.co/GnSNy8rRP9 Via @RamsNFL on X

What happened: The move removes a depth receiver who appeared in 16 games for Los Angeles last season. Smith, a Florida A&M product in his third NFL season, finished 2025 with 18 catches for 303 yards.

Why it matters: Los Angeles now has an open roster spot for a follow-up move during the regular season. It also extends a week of roster churn after the Rams waived Tanner Ingle with no recall on Sept. 29.

By the numbers: In 2025, Smith averaged 16.8 yards per catch on his 18 receptions.

What to watch: The next Rams transaction will show how Los Angeles plans to use the opening. Smith's waiver status is the next checkpoint after Friday's move.
