What happened: Brooklyn holds an 11-9 edge with the game in progress. Egor Demin leads all scorers with 4 points.

Why it matters: An early make gives Brooklyn immediate production from a new frontcourt piece. Early touches help establish how Randle fits alongside the current scorers.

By the numbers: Hornets 9, Nets 11. Game-high: Egor Demin 4 points. Moussa Diabate 4 points, 2 rebounds. Michael Porter Jr. 3 points, 2 rebounds.

What to watch: The next stretch shows whether Randle adds to his opening jumper as the game continues.
