What happened: The Toronto Raptors have awarded head coach Darko Rajakovic a multiyear contract extension. The move keeps the coach who oversaw the franchise's rebuild in place beyond his initial deal.

Why it matters: The extension signals organizational continuity after Rajakovic guided Toronto back to the playoffs this past season. Committing to him long-term stabilizes the bench as the roster continues to develop, removing coaching uncertainty heading into the 2026-27 season.

What to watch: Watch for how the front office builds around Rajakovic's system this offseason and whether the roster takes another step in 2026-27.
