What happened: The Baltimore Ravens lead the NFL in explosive passing percentage this season, generating 15 or more yards on 18.5 percent of their pass attempts. The Cincinnati Bengals (18.0 percent) and Seattle Seahawks (17.3 percent) rank second and third in the category.

Why it matters: The Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers round out the top five most efficient vertical passing attacks at 17.1 percent and 16.6 percent, respectively. Consistently producing chunk plays through the air reduces reliance on sustained drives and instantly flips field position.

What to watch: Upcoming matchups will test whether these offenses can maintain their downfield efficiency against adjusting defensive coverages.
