What happened: Bell transitions to Boston's big-league dugout after serving as a quality control coach, per Brian McTaggart, Chandler Rome and Tim Healey. Club officials are still sorting through the remaining roles and assignments across the coaching staff.

Why it matters: The addition helps rebuild the bench for a Red Sox club that overhauled its staff during a 10-17 start. Outfield instruction also carries immediate weight this winter as the front office evaluates its roster alignment and trade options for 2027.

What to watch: Boston will announce formal titles and the remaining additions to its 2027 staff once internal hiring concludes.
