What happened: Eisen said Monken, "in his first crack at it," is "crushing it," putting a brighter spotlight on the Browns coach after the win. The praise cast Monken's early impact in Cleveland as a central part of the team's start.

Why it matters: That reaction matters because Cleveland's direction is being judged through Monken as much as through the roster on the field. It also lands after the Browns' quarterback battle stayed in focus heading into the season.

What to watch: The next read on Monken will come in Cleveland's next outing and in the follow-up from inside the building. More postgame reaction should show whether this praise settles in as a lasting theme around the Browns.
