Richie Palacios involved in top-of-the-sixth injury delay

Postseason contest pauses with a one-run margin at 4-3

What happened: An official game advisory halted Sunday's action involving Richie Palacios, who previously experienced a fourth-inning injury stoppage on Sept. 17. He entered the matchup having delivered a two-run double on Oct. 19 to open a 2-0 Game 6 lead.

Why it matters: An October stoppage involving Palacios carries immediate lineup stakes during a postseason run in which right-side infield options have already been under scrutiny. He previously sparked the offense with a bases-clearing double in a 6-1 game on Sept. 17 before extending that production into the playoffs.

By the numbers: Sunday's stoppage marks the fifth documented injury delay involving Palacios in 2026, following earlier halts on May 30 (sixth inning), June 6 (fifth inning), July 25 (bottom of the eighth at 8-1), and Sept. 17 (fourth inning).

What to watch: In-game substitution decisions and postgame club updates will determine Palacios' availability for the remainder of the postseason series.
