What happened: Fabrizio Romano's 'Here We Go' podcast with Men in Blazers details mounting upheaval at Real Madrid. Romano reports José Mourinho has been open to taking the job since March, Toni Kroos is still mentioned internally, and Álvaro Arbeloa is still expected to depart. The episode also unpacks the Tchouaméni-Valverde fallout and its consequences for the dressing room.

Why it matters: The disclosures land while Real Madrid are already managing the fallout from Valverde's traumatic brain injury ruling him out of El Clásico, compounding a midfield crisis with Tchouaméni's status uncertain and suitors circling. A Mourinho return — or a Kroos-linked staff role — would mark a seismic structural reset at the Bernabéu and reshape summer transfer leverage across Europe.

What to watch: Watch for club confirmation on Arbeloa's exit timing and any official movement on the manager's chair beyond Carlo Ancelotti's current standing. Tchouaméni's transfer market — already linked to Manchester United — is the next domino.
