What happened: The New Orleans Saints selected Georgia defensive tackle Christen Miller with the 42nd overall pick to open the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The pick was announced by former 49ers punter Andy Lee and confirmed by multiple reporters including Adam Schefter. This follows their first-round selection of ASU WR Jordyn Tyson at No. 8.

Why it matters: Miller bolsters the Saints' defensive line depth heading into the 2026 season. The selection addresses potential needs on the interior after prior draft moves. It pairs with their earlier WR addition, shaping an early draft class focused on trenches and skill positions.

What to watch: Watch for the Saints' next selection and remaining Round 2 picks.
