What happened: Seattle is pondering or expected to consider a trade for Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor to bolster its ground game, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday. The 27-year-old three-time Pro Bowler has also drawn interest from the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos, while 30-year-old Colts guard Quenton Nelson is separately attracting playoff-contending suitors.

Why it matters: Seattle is seeking backfield reinforcements with 2026 first-round pick Jadarian Price on injured reserve and Zach Charbonnet ruled out with a knee injury, leaving third-year back George Holani in the rotation. Acquiring Taylor requires taking on a contract extension that carries a $7 million base salary in 2026 before rising to $16 million in 2027 and $18 million in 2028.

By the numbers: Indianapolis sits at 2-4 (No. 12 seed), while fellow suitors Denver (4-2, No. 5 seed) and Green Bay (4-2, No. 6 seed) hold playoff seeds. In 2025, per ESPN, Taylor rushed 323 times for 1,585 yards and 18 touchdowns across 17 games, while Charbonnet logged 184 carries for 730 yards and 12 scores in 16 games and Holani recorded 22 carries for 73 yards and one touchdown in 11 games.

What to watch: Interested clubs have until the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline to negotiate a deal with Indianapolis.
