What happened: The Ottawa Senators were swept 4-0 by the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round of the playoffs. Captain Brady Tkachuk failed to register a point across the series. Critics noted his penalties and lackluster play.

Why it matters: The sweep caps Ottawa's disappointing postseason despite regular-season wins like their 6-3 victory over Carolina on April 6. Tkachuk's scoreless series fuels scrutiny of his leadership. Hurricanes advance to the second round.
