What happened: Shams Charania, citing sources, reported the knee injury Monday. The recovery window would place Sharpe's return around late February.

Why it matters: The Portland Trail Blazers will be without a 2025-26 starter for much of the upcoming season. The injury also interrupts the first year of the four-year, $90 million extension he signed in October 2025.

By the numbers: Sharpe averaged 20.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists across 50 games in 2025-26, starting 42. He previously missed time that season with a left fibula stress reaction.

What to watch: Portland's next update could clarify the treatment plan and schedule for reevaluation.
