What happened: Daniel Jebbison flicked on the opener for Shaffelburg to slot home the 1-0 lead. Shaffelburg finished at the back post to extend the advantage to 2-0 over Peru.

Why it matters: Early two-goal cushion gave Canada control of the Peru meeting during the international break. A brace in national-team play strengthens Shaffelburg's case for continued minutes on return.

By the numbers: Shaffelburg: 2 goals vs Peru; scoring sequence: 1-0, 2-0.

What to watch: Watch whether Canada closes out the lead over Peru and how Shaffelburg carries the form back to club play.
