It all starts on defense 🛡️ Odyssey Sims comes up with the steal and Arike Ogunbowale finishes the other way DAL-GSV Via @WNBA on X

What happened: Odyssey Sims jumped a pass and started the break, and Arike Ogunbowale converted the other way during DAL-GSV on ESPN2. The sequence came in a deciding 2026 WNBA playoff game after Ogunbowale's 45-point Game 2 forced a third matchup.

Why it matters: Live-ball turnovers carry extra weight in a winner-take-all game because they create the cleanest scoring chances on either side. The runout also lightens the half-court scoring burden on Ogunbowale after her usage spiked earlier in the series.

By the numbers: Ogunbowale scored 45 points with five 3-pointers and seven rebounds in Game 2 to extend the series.

What to watch: Watch whether Sims keeps turning defense into transition chances as the game tightens. The winner takes the final berth in the semifinals.
