Will Detroit remain Tarik Skubal's home or is there another stop in his MLB odyssey? DeRo highlights the back-to-back A Via @MLBNetwork on X

What happened: Tarik Skubal remains in Detroit with four days left before the trade deadline. The back-to-back AL Cy Young winner can enter free agency after the season.

Why it matters: Keeping Skubal would preserve an ace for Detroit's playoff chase but risk losing him for no trade return. A deal could shift both the postseason race and the deadline market.

By the numbers: Detroit is 51-58 and four games behind the final American League playoff berth.

What to watch: The decision window closes Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. ET.
