What happened: The Devils acquired Evangelista from the Predators for a conditional 2028 first-round pick and New Jersey's 2028 second-round pick. Sportsnaut graded New Jersey A- and Nashville C.

Why it matters: The deal adds a 24-year-old winger ahead of the 2026-27 season while costing New Jersey two future selections. Nashville adds draft capital but moves a player entering the final year of his contract.

What to watch: Training camp will show how New Jersey fits Evangelista into its wing group. Nashville's return hinges on the eventual value of the 2028 picks.
