What happened: San Antonio opened 2026-27 with a new three-guard alignment. One player said he needs to return to the basketball he likes, describing the current style as not the sport he likes.

Why it matters: Early fit questions can decide minutes, closing groups and defensive assignments. How the three guards share ball-handling will shape the rotation in the opening weeks.

What to watch: Next games will show whether the alignment or the minutes change.
