What happened: Dallas will connect every goal it scores this season to a donation through its Goals for Good initiative. The money will go to a Dallas Stars Foundation program as the campaign runs across the season.

Why it matters: The pledge links on-ice production to off-ice fundraising instead of making the program a one-time promotion. That gives the club's charitable arm a performance-based stream of support throughout the season.

What to watch: Watch for the foundation to detail which program receives the season-long support and how the campaign totals build over time.
