What happened: Dallas Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones announced this week that WR George Pickens will play the 2026 season on the franchise tag. Jones informed agent Mulugheta and Pickens directly before telling media. This follows similar discussions Jerry Jones had with Mulugheta during Micah Parsons' contract saga.

Why it matters: Locking Pickens under the tag secures a dynamic receiver for 2026 without long-term commitment, aiding cap management. It averts free agency risks and bolsters the Cowboys' offense for playoff contention. lines may shift on Cowboys' win totals and prop bets for Pickens.

What to watch: Monitor extension talks in training camp or potential trade activity if Pickens underperforms.
