What happened: Speaking at Progressive Field during Cleveland's end-of-season media availability, manager Stephen Vogt highlighted Steven Kwan's midseason recovery as a catalyst for the club's ALCS push. Vogt noted that while he likes the roster's trajectory, the club still needs targeted improvements to finish a championship run.

Why it matters: Vogt confirmed Thursday that he will remain in Cleveland's dugout, settling the organization's managerial outlook entering the winter. Kwan's consistency atop the batting order and in left field anchors a Guardians core aiming to close the remaining gap in the American League.

By the numbers: Kwan was named an American League Gold Glove finalist for the fifth consecutive year on Oct. 14 and recorded at least six outfield assists during the 2026 campaign, including cutting down a runner at home plate on Oct. 18.

What to watch: The Guardians now turn to offseason roster evaluation as the front office weighs winter additions ahead of the 2027 campaign.
