What happened: Eleven first-rounders from the 2023 draft have made Pro Bowls. Eight have landed second contracts, with six setting the market at their positions.

Why it matters: The Houston Texans face a quarterback decision on CJ Stroud, while the New England Patriots have Christian Gonzalez at cornerback and the Buffalo Bills have Dalton Kincaid at tight end. Their peers’ deals have established the extension landscape at each position.

By the numbers: Eight of the 11 Pro Bowlers have received second contracts, a 72.7% share. Six of those eight deals, or 75%, topped the market at the player’s position.

What to watch: Watch whether Houston, New England or Buffalo becomes the next club to complete an extension.
