What happened: Maksymilian Szuber scored to move the score to 2-1 in Toronto. The goal put his side back in front during preseason play.

Why it matters: A go-ahead goal matters even in September because roster battles and special-teams roles are still being sorted out. A lead change also gives coaches a fresh game-state look at how a group protects an edge late.

What to watch: The next marker is whether that 2-1 edge holds through the final stretch. Szuber's usage after the goal will also be worth watching as preseason decisions continue.
