What happened: Tampa Bay was highlighted by Yahoo Sports as a logical destination to pursue offensive help from the Pittsburgh Penguins. The proposal suggests the Lightning acquire veteran forward talent to reinforce their forward group.

Why it matters: Pittsburgh faces roster adjustments as the front office balances veteran contracts against long-term rebuilding goals. Adding proven scoring depth would stabilize Tampa Bay during a competitive Eastern Conference playoff pursuit.

What to watch: Monitor whether both front offices engage in formal trade discussions as the regular season progresses.
