What happened: Houston Texans cornerback Jaylin Smith will not return to the game against the Dallas Cowboys after suffering a hamstring injury. The team officially downgraded his status to out.

Why it matters: Smith's departure removes a depth option from the Houston secondary. The Texans' defense is attempting to rally while trailing 27-23.

What to watch: Houston will rely on its remaining defensive backs for the remainder of the contest.
