What happened: The move comes eight days after Houston released Oliver on Sept. 30. Oliver, out of Youngstown State, is in his third NFL season after catching one pass for eight yards in three games with Tennessee in 2025.

Why it matters: Houston keeps receiver depth intact during the regular season. An active-roster spot gives Oliver a path to dress after time on the practice squad.

By the numbers: 2025 with Tennessee: 3 games, 1 catch, 8 yards. Third NFL season, Youngstown State product. Released Sept. 30, back on active roster Oct. 8.

What to watch: Watch whether Oliver dresses on game day and what special-teams role follows.
