What happened: All 32 blue-chip offensive tackles in the 2027 Rivals Industry Ranking have committed across 25 programs, with six schools holding multiple four- or five-star pledges. Texas A&M leads the position group behind No. 1 tackle Mark Matthews (No. 4 overall) alongside four-star in-state commits Kaeden Scott and DeMarrion Johnson. Oklahoma holds top-five tackles Kaeden Penny (No. 3 OT) and Cooper Hackett (No. 4 OT), while Notre Dame secured No. 2 tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola and flipped three-star Jackson Hill from UCLA.

Why it matters: With every blue-chip tackle already off the board midway through senior seasons, contending staffs have been forced into early flip battles rather than open recruitment. Georgia flipped four-star Kennedee Jackson from Florida nine days after his June pledge to pair him with Kelsey Adams and three three-star tackles, while Oklahoma flipped Hackett from Texas Tech to keep its top two in-state prospects under Bill Bedenbaugh. Tennessee and Georgia Tech also locked in pair-plus blue-chip tackle hauls to insulate their 2027 classes.

By the numbers: 2027 Rivals Industry Ranking OT breakdown: 32 blue-chip tackles committed (100% off the board) across 25 teams, with 6 programs holding multiple blue-chip pledges. Top 4 OTs nationally: Mark Matthews (Texas A&M, No. 4 NATL), Oluwasemilore Olubobola (Notre Dame, No. 18 NATL), Kaeden Penny (Oklahoma, No. 35 NATL), and Cooper Hackett (Oklahoma, No. 43 NATL). Georgia leads in volume with five OT commits: Kennedee Jackson (No. 86 NATL), Kelsey Adams (No. 177 NATL), Miller Westerfield (No. 446 NATL), Ty Johnson (No. 536 NATL), and DJ Dotson (No. 557 NATL).

What to watch: Rival coaching staffs still seeking 2027 tackle starters will have to pursue flips ahead of the Early Signing Period, while Oklahoma commit Cooper Hackett (shoulder surgery) and Notre Dame commit Jackson Hill (knee surgery) rehab while sitting out their senior high school seasons.
