What happened: Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace agreed to a five-year, $139 million rookie-scale contract extension. Agents Jeff Schwartz, Max Lipsett and Marcus Monk of Excel Sports Management disclosed the terms to ESPN.

Why it matters: The agreement locks in a young defensive cornerstone as Oklahoma City heads into the 2026-27 season. It keeps a homegrown starter under long-term control alongside the Thunder's core.
