What happened: ESPN highlighted that the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder are 6-0 to open the 2026 NBA playoffs, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams. The post amplifies the Thunder's perfect start as they continue their title defense.

Why it matters: A 6-0 playoff start puts Oklahoma City in rare company among defending champions and reinforces them as the favorite to repeat. Lakers coach JJ Redick, in adjacent commentary, framed OKC as the more physical team — a recurring theme as opponents try to solve the Thunder's defense and depth.

What to watch: Watch for the Thunder's next series matchup and whether the unbeaten run holds against tougher conference competition. Title odds and series prices should continue to compress in OKC's favor if the streak extends.
