What happened: Tennessee head coach Robert Saleh spoke about wide receiver Carnell Tate on Monday. The comment came during Saleh's weekly press availability.

Why it matters: Tate's development shapes Tennessee's plans at receiver. His usage will define the rookie's early role with the offense, including the same Carnell Tate who wrote his mom's name inside his jacket.

What to watch: Tennessee returns to practice this week. Tate's participation will show how the staff plans to use him next.
