What happened: Tommy Edman broke from third and scored on a pickoff error to put Los Angeles ahead 2-1. The go-ahead run followed Freddie Freeman putting Los Angeles in front earlier in the game.

Why it matters: The lead gives Los Angeles early control in a postseason game where each inning carries series leverage. Extra pressure on the bases forces opposing pitching changes and reshapes late-inning matchups.

What to watch: Los Angeles will try to protect the one-run edge into the middle innings. The next threat will test bench depth and bullpen sequencing.
