What happened: Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has identified Pedro Porro as a non-negotiable part of his squad, leading the club to reject mounting transfer interest. Despite reports of potential moves to elite European clubs, Spurs have communicated that the defender is not for sale this summer.

Why it matters: The decision to keep Porro underscores Tottenham Hotspur's commitment to rebuilding under De Zerbi, who identifies the 26-year-old as a key engine for his system. Porro's ability to drive play from the defensive flank was a rare bright spot in a difficult campaign, and his departure would have complicated the club's efforts to return to the top half of the table.

What to watch: Tottenham will focus on further defensive reinforcements to support Porro and fellow new signing Andy Robertson ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
