What happened: Karl-Anthony Towns said he seeks an extension that helps keep the group together while also valuing him. He said none of those outcomes are close to happening. The comments came at morning shootaround in Philadelphia with the game still scheduled.

Why it matters: The outcome shapes New York's core continuity and future payroll structure around Towns. A stall keeps a central roster question open as the extension negotiations continue into the new campaign.

What to watch: Watch for further updates from the sides in the coming days.
