What happened: The Cardinals waived Benson with an injury designation Monday, putting him through the NFL claim process. Tuesday’s reversion keeps his contract with Arizona while removing him from the active roster.

Why it matters: Arizona retains Benson’s rights without using an active-roster spot. The move keeps a 2024 third-round pick in the organization amid his knee issue.

By the numbers: Benson was selected 66th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. He played four games in 2025 before the knee injury ended his season.

What to watch: Watch whether Arizona keeps Benson on injured reserve or reaches an injury settlement. A finalized settlement would make him a free agent.
