The Tigers have had one of the best starting pitchers in the league on their roster this season ... and his name is Troy

What happened: Melton made his 2026 debut on May 24. Jacob Misiorowski is the only qualified starter with a lower ERA over that span, posting a 1.41.

Why it matters: The Troy Melton run has helped Detroit post MLB's best starters' ERA. The Tigers remain below .500 at 57-60 despite that rotation strength.

By the numbers: Melton sits 0.17 ERA points behind Misiorowski over the shared window.

What to watch: Melton is scheduled to start Sunday for Detroit as he looks to extend his run beyond 74 innings.
