What happened: Minnesota named Brian Reith as pitching coach and Ben Myers as assistant athletic trainer. Reith spent the past five seasons at Triple-A Durham in the Rays organization.

Why it matters: The pitching coach directs throwing programs, game planning and arm development across the staff. Changing that voice signals a new approach for Minnesota's pitchers entering next season.

What to watch: Watch for Minnesota to finalize the rest of its major league coaching staff ahead of the offseason program.
