What happened: The Minnesota Twins have made their selection official, closing the book on their pick as the 2026 MLB Draft moved through its second day of rounds. The pick came after the Tampa Bay Rays and Chicago White Sox both worked through their own selections earlier in the sequence.

Why it matters: Every completed pick reshapes the draft board for the clubs still on the clock behind Minnesota. The Twins enter the pick at 46-49 on the season, losers of two straight, and are leaning on player-development pipelines like this one to help close the gap in the AL Central race.

What to watch: Coverage turns to the next slate of picks as Day 2 of the draft continues.
